Late 14th to early 15th Century this badge depicts the Holy Rood of Grace at Boxley Abbey in Kent. This was a life-sized figure of Christ which was said to moves its facial expressions, the eyes and the lips, though this was later discovered to be an automaton.

This badge is just one example of the marvellous diversity of design found across the many smaller shrines found across England.
