This booklet attempts to outline the ingredients, methods, recipes and menu’s with which William Shakespeare would have been acquainted. During his life he would have experienced culinary delights of the middle class urban and rural England in the Elizabethan and Jacobean periods. His wealthy patrons would also have exposed him to the food and drink of the upper class. This booklet draws on a number of sources both published and experimental.
