Handmade of sheet brass after examples in the Museum of London’s “Dress Accessories- Medieval Finds from Excavations in London” (#816, #818). A thimbler at work is also depicted in the Mendelschen Hausbuch. Invaluable for anyone who does hand stitching.
Many of the recovered thimbles which had been obviously used, the ring was quite often split and the shape modified to fit the owners finger.
