Based on worked thread buttons on an extant doublet in the Germanisches Nationalmuseum, Nurnberg, worn by Herzog Moritz von Sachsen-Larenburg 1605-10 illustrated in Janet Arnold’s Patterns of Fashion, The cut and construction of clothes for men and women c1560-1620.
