Description
There are numerous miniature combs among the remaining medieval pewter miniatures, intimate objects, used for grooming oneself or someone else. Extant full sized combs in this form often have carved or painted decoration between the two rows of teeth. In this case (and this one) the decoration is erotic. This comb was copied after an example found in Bruges, and is dated 1325-1375.
