Different types of decorated eggs have been found from the Neolithic period onwards, originating in Africa and spreading throughout the world’s cultures. This is not surprising, given that eggs, as he seeming beginning of life, are an obvious choice for the resurrection symbol. The author delves into examples of pre-1600 decorated eggs and the tools used to make them, and presents results of experiences to replicate those examples.
