Description
Author:
Morris, Robert.
Summary:
Part of the “Living History Reference Books Series”. “This work has been produced in response to a need primarily by re-enactors for information in this area, particularly as Pat Poppy’s excellent book Englishwomen’s Costume is no longer in print. This book does not set out to be a final and definitive work on the topic: the produce such would take many years and even then new material will undoubtedly emerge from unexpected corners. It is hoped that particularly some o the more tentative points made will smoke out further information to prove or disprove hypotheses. Neither is it intended to telly you how to produce period costume. A separate volume is being prepared to cover patterns, sourcing materials and construction techniques.”
